The Story of TTW-Offroad – A Journey Fueled by Passion

TTW-Offroad is not just a shop. It is the result of hard work, strong family bonds, tough setbacks, and even bigger dreams. Many know us by our name or our products – but few know the story behind it. This is our story. Honest, unfiltered, and full of the heart we've poured into this journey for over 20 years.

✨ 2003 – The Beginning with a Bang

In 2003, Hans-Peter Kaschny and his sons André and Michel were riding at the MSC Bokel motocross track – a place that felt like a second home for the Kaschny family. What started as a regular training day ended abruptly when Hans-Peter crashed his bike into a tree. The hospital report: multiple broken bones – and the realization that something had to change.

Instead of giving up, this moment became the turning point that would one day give life to TTW-Offroad.

🌟 2004 – The Birth of TTW-Offroad

Michel had qualified for the German Motocross Championship finals, but logistical chaos and lack of support made participation impossible. So the family took matters into their own hands.

Hans-Peter, together with Thomas Harms and other motorsport friends, founded the TTW-Offroad team and shop – named after Terschlüsen Two Wheel. A small shop in Hamburg quickly became a hotspot for riders, mechanics, and offroad enthusiasts. The passion was felt both on the track and behind the counter.

⚡ 2008 – The Silence

Oliver H., who had been managing the shop, began a new career at the TÜV (technical inspection authority). Without a steady team, the shop couldn’t continue. One by one, staff left – until the doors were closed. But in our minds and hearts, TTW-Offroad was never gone.

🧑‍🔧 2011 – A New Start Fueled by Conviction

Michel completed his vocational training – but his heart no longer belonged to plumbing and heating. His dream was to bring TTW-Offroad back to life. With the full support of his parents, he began rebuilding the business. He had no business experience, but his determination was unstoppable.

He taught himself everything: from webshops and logistics to customer service and purchasing. Days became nights, mistakes became lessons. What began as a dream became a plan – and then a reality.

📚 2015 – The Reopening

Four years of preparation, trial and error finally paid off. Michel and his first team reopened a small, but mighty store in Hamburg: 70 square meters, a tiny workshop, and a big family vibe.

Customers became friends. The MX spirit returned. This wasn’t just a store – it was a community hub, a place for ideas and inspiration.

⚖️ 2017–2018 – The Ultimate Test

The next big goal: a larger location. But just before achieving it, Michel suffered a severe crash during a race – breaking both feet and suffering fractures in his jaw and pelvis. To make matters worse, both employees quit during the relocation phase.

What happened next was pure TTW: family, friends, and coworkers from Terschlüsen Sicherheitssysteme GmbH came together. Everyone helped. And against all odds, TTW-Offroad reopened on June 30, 2018 – in Halstenbek, on 1,000 m². Bigger. Better. More authentic than ever.

✨ 2025 – The Transformation

0, 2025, we closed our physical store for good. Not because we failed – but because the world had changed.

Online shopping became the new norm. Staffing became difficult, costs kept rising. But our heart stayed in it. We held onto the store for as long as we could – out of love, out of pride, and out of tradition.

Today, we know: digital allows us to reach more people, respond faster, and offer even more.

TTW-Offroad continues – online. And with the same passion that started it all. We’re not just a retailer. We’re a family on two wheels. And we’re far from finished.
